With smartphones coming in all different sizes these days, it’s hard to find a dock that will fit your particular smartphone. That’s why a lot of these manufacturers have opted to go with an universal mount, and that includes Scosche who is announcing their MagicMount line of smartphone mounts. The MagicMount Pro lineup is available as of today. Within the lineup we have the MagicMount Pro Vent, MagicMount Pro Window/Dash and the MagicMount Pro Dash. As you can probably tell by the names, the MagicMount Pro Vent clips onto your vent allowing you to keep your phone out of the line of sight (especially useful when driving in terrible weather). While the MagicMount Pro Window/Dash can be mounted on either the dashboard or the windshield. And finally the MagicMount Pro Dash can only be mounted on the dashboard. These are pretty simple car mounts here which attach to your smartphone using Neodymium magnets, and Scosche states that they are 100% safe, and that they won’t damage your device.
Scosche is offering these three mounts in Carbon Fiber, Rose Gold, Gold and Space Gray (ironic that they are all the colors that Apple offers the iPhone in). Now because they use magnets to mount your smartphone, they will work with any smartphone, and even tablets, for those that would rather have a tablet in the car for GPS, streaming music and such. Scosche says that the MagicMount Pro line was built with the most powerful magnets on earth. So we shouldn’t need to worry about them falling off when we’re driving – talk about a distraction.
As mentioned above, the Scosche MagicMount Pro line is available starting today at Scosche.com. They’ll be available at all Staples stores and select AT&T stores in April. The company says that additional retailers will follow in April, but no further announcement on availability has been made. As far as prices go, the MagicMount Pro Vent is $29.99, the MagicMount Pro Dash is also $29.99 and finally the MagicMount Pro Window/Dash is $39.99.
