Soccer Kick is an Android game that puts players in control of a Soccer Player and asks them to get the ball into the goal. How they do that however, is up to them. They can work with the other Soccer Player on the field and pass the ball around, bounce off of obstacles to earn more points and so on. Soccer Kick is a physics-based puzzle game that asks players to figure out the best way to complete a level and choose their next few moves wisely. A free game with simple, one-touch controls Soccer Kick seems to have a lot on offer, so let’s see if that’s the case, shall we?
First off, players will need to download Soccer Kick from the Play Store. Once they have done, they can just launch it and choose an option from the main menu.
One thing that quickly becomes apparent here is how low-resolution some of the assets are, even in the main menu things appear blocky and blurred on my Full HD display. Still, a game like this isn’t all about the graphics, so let’s give it a try, shall we?
Players are given an introduction on how to play the game, and while the controls are pretty simple to use, there are some pointers that new players will be smart to remember.
The controls remind me of the way that Angry Birds is played. Players just need to tap on the display and then move it around to control direction and the power of the kick.
Naturally, things start off fairly simple for the players, which is good as even though the end game is to get the ball in the goal, there are obstacles – as well as opportunities to score more points – that players can work around.
Over time, players will be introduced to more difficult levels as well as some extra gameplay mechanics, too. Such as the use of mechanisms and buttons.
One aspect of the game that I did enjoy was the fact that passing from one player to the other opened up new opportunities and in a lot of cases was actually required. It is a little finicky to get the timing and power right in order to pass the ball to someone else, but it’s not impossible, either.
Levels become more difficult, challenging and varied as time goes on and many of them are even played in different environments, too.
Some of these levels make it challenging right from the start, making it difficult to time your kicks right and ensure a good bounce to get across a level.
One thing that I did find a little frustrating however, was the fact that the game featured a lot of ads, many of which took over the display for a period of time entirely.
Never mind the ads however, this is a free game, and it does have some challenging gameplay to offer players, which can only be a good thing, right?
After spending some time with Soccer Kick, I can see why a lot of people will enjoy the game. There’s more need to use your brain than you might originally think. Players will need to plan ahead and launch their balls at the right sort of speed with the right trajectory in order to get through tricky levels. With points awarded for each rebound off of an obstacle, there’s a good deal of incentive to launch the ball towards the goal in ever-more imaginative ways. All-in-all however, the game feels a little clunky, and almost as if it was rushed.

- Speed (4/5) - Soccer Kick runs just fine, and it allows players to take things at their own pace and play however they want to.
- Features (3.5/5) -Â The gameplay here is fairly basic, but if you stick with the finicky controls and get stuck in, there are some fun levels that will get you thinking on what the best solution to beat each level is and so on.
- Theme (3/5) -Â This is an area that really needs improving. Assets are reused a lot throughout the levels, the sound effects sound low-quality and everything is pretty low-resolution overall, sadly.
- Overall (3.75/5) -Â The core gameplay might not be original, but with some tricky levels, there’s a good deal of fun available for most users. With some improvement to the graphics and overall presentation, Soccer Kick would be much easier on the eye.

- Tricky levels that have lots of passes, obstacles and more give players a solid challenge to work through.
- Simple and easy to get to grips with, but still offers a solid challenge for players.

- Offers up too many ads for  a casual game like this.
While there doesn’t seem to be much on offer from Soccer Kick, there is some good gameplay hidden away here. The amount of ads is unfortunate, but then again developers do need to make some money, after all. With some tweaks here and there to the overall look and feel of the game Soccer Kick would have more to offer and it can only get better.
