At the Mobile World Congress trade show held in the Spanish city of Barcelona earlier this year, the two largest consumer electronics companies from South Korea, LG and Samsung, both launched their latest premium smartphones. While Samsung’s Galaxy S7 devices are already shipping to users in most regions around the world, consumers are yet to get their hands on the LG G5. However, LG has already announced that the device will be available in retail stores nationwide from April 1st, which is just about a couple of weeks or so away. However, T-Mobile subscribers apparently won’t even have to wait till next month to order the G5, as the carrier has just announced that it will accept online orders for the smartphone from the 29th of this month itself.
Along with the early availability of the LG G5 at T-Mobile, the carrier also says that it will be offering a free LG 360 CAM, which normally comes with an MSRP of $200. This, however is a time-limited offer, and will be valid till the 5th of next month, or until stock runs out, whichever is earlier. While the free camera is an exclusive T-Mobile offer, LG itself is offering a bunch of goodies for early birds, something that the company has been doing with its premium handsets like the G5 and the V10 over the past year or so. That being the case, those buying the device on or before April 17th are expected to get a bunch of freebies worth around $80 from the South Korean manufacturer, including a free spare battery, a wireless charging cradle and a USB Type-C adapter.
The un-carrier has also announced its pricing for the LG G5. The smartphone will come with a retail price-tag of $629.99 at T-Mobile, but those wanting to take advantage of the company’s interest free financing plan can get it at zero down and $26.23 monthly for 24 months. Of course, T-Mobile is not the first US carrier to announce early availability of the LG G5. Earlier this week, US Cellular announced that it will be accepting pre-orders for the handset from the 28th of this month, but the carrier is charging $636 for the device off-contract or $199 down and $26.50 per month on a two-year contact.
