Xiaomi Unveils Redmi 3 Pro With A Fingerprint Scanner

Xiaomi is China’s number one smartphone manufacturer. This company has managed to trump Huawei in the Chinese smartphone market last year, and will try to do the same by the end of this year as well. Xiaomi has introduced their new flagship last month, and has introduced the ‘Mi Ecosystem‘ earlier today, which is the company’s all-new sub-brand. The company has essentially introduced the higher-end variant of the Redmi 3, the Redmi 3 Pro. This device looks identical to the Redmi 3, aside from the fingerprint scanner on the back, and it sports similar specs as well. The all-new Redmi 3 cannot exactly be considered a successor to the Redmi 3, but a different variation of that device which was announced back in January. The device features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage. The 4,100mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it is not removable. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 616 64-bit octa-core SoC, along with the Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel snapper is placed on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel shooter is available up front. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here, and Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 OS is available on top of it. This is also a dual-SIM handset, you can either use both SIM slots for SIM cards, or you can insert one SIM card and a microSD card (Hybrid SIM).

The all-new Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro will be available in Silver, Grey and Gold color variants for 899 Yuan ($138). Now, if you live in China, and are interested in getting this device, you should know that Xiaomi will make it available starting April 6th during the Mi Fan Festival (Xiaomi’s anniversary). Knowing Xiaomi, you’ll also be able to purchase various other devices on the cheap, as Xiaomi tends to discount their products during the celebration, so stay tuned for more info.
