Xiaomi is a well-known China-based smartphone manufacturer, but this company is so much more than that. Xiaomi is not only manufacturing smartphone, tablets and smart TVs, they’re also into various other smart gadgets, not to mention that Xiaomi became an MVNO last year, and that they’re developing their own Android-based OS as well. As part of this announcement, Xiaomi has also introduced their newest smart gadget, the Mi Induction Heating Pressure Rice Cooker, read on.
We have briefly mentioned this product as part of the Mi Ecosystem announcement, but it probably deserves some more focus. The Mi Induction Heating Pressure Rice Cooker, is actually the first product under the new ‘Mi Ecosystem’ sub-brand. This device costs only 999 Yuan, which is 40% more affordable compared to some high-end induction heating pressure rice cookers from Japan. Now, Xiaomi claims that their product is equal, and in some areas even better than what other high-end manufacturers have to offer. This rice cooker uses three core technology, says Xiaomi, pressure control, heating method and the lining material. This product employs a magnetic relief valve to precisely control the pressure inside it, and basically sets it to 1.2 times the atmospheric pressure, which is an ideal boiling point of water at 105 degrees Celsius. The Rice Cooker also uses the electromagnetic heating technology for higher thermal efficiency, according to the company.
Now, this sure is an interesting product on its own, but to spice things up, you can even control it via your smartphone. The Mi Induction Heating Pressure Rice Cooker is WiFi-enabled, and you can sync it with the Mi Home app on your phone. This rice cooker supports more than 200 brands of rice, and it is capable of recognizing what kind of rice is it supposed to cook. Based on that info, it will adjust its heating methodology. The Mi Induction Heating Pressure Rice Cooker will be available for sale through Mi.com in China during the Mi Fan Festival (Xiaomi’s anniversary) which will kick off on April 6th.
