E-mail has been around for a long time, and pretty much every single one of you reading this use it one way or the other. Some of us use e-mail on a regular basis, other not that often, but you still use it at some capacity. Well, there are plenty of e-mail services available out there, and a ton of such services are available on Android as well. Google’s Gmail is by far the most popular one though, and Google’s native mailing application is used by a lot of people these days, but there are other options out there, such as Yahoo Mail, for example. Interesting enough, you can use your Google Mail through Yahoo’s Mail service, which is quite convenient. This feature has been around for quite some time now, but it is kind of relevant here, and you’ll find out why in a second, read on.
We have some good news for those of you who use the Yahoo Mail app, no matter which e-mail service you use through the app. Yahoo has updated their app for both Android and iOS to version 5.3, and the update itself brings quite a few features. The most notable one is quite probably the ability to theme the looks of the app itself. Yahoo has implemented 11 new themes here, which essentially means that you’ll be able to theme the looks of the app using different colors. Once you update the app, head over to Settings -> Themes, and you’ll be able to customize the looks of the app itself. Now, as part of this update, you also get some additional options in the account switcher. You can now long press on your account titles in order to rename them, while you can also preview or save pictures sent to you in a message by simply tapping on them. Yahoo has also included the ability to move an image between the body of the message, and the attachment tray by clicking the three dots you’ll notice on the image itself.
You think that’s it? Well, not quite. If you long press on a folder, you’ll be able to rename it, delete it, or create a subfolder for it. You can also enable tappable stars for your messaging lists, and by using custom swipes you can change your the ‘star’ status of your messages. Now, keep in mind that the update is currently rolling out, but it’s possible that it did not arrive to your particular device just yet. Be patient, it will arrive soon if it hasn’t already, presuming you have auto updates turned on in the Google Play Store app, if not, check for the update manually as you usually do.
