We all should create a budget. Whether it’s to save up to buy something that you really want, or to just live within your means. It’s definitely something we all need to do. There are many ways to budget, and many ways to create a budget. With the way that technology is going these days, using an app to do so has become pretty popular, and right now you can do that with ‘Every Dollar Counts’ that has just launched on Android.
The thought process behind this app is pretty simple – and it’s basically in the name. The app believes that every dollar that you earn should count towards something. Now this could be your rent or mortgage for your housing, maybe food, transportation, savings, or even bills. What Every Dollar Counts aims to do is to create budget categories and assign a budget amount to these categories. Then you’ll record the spending from your transactions in the correct categories. As common sense would say, when you reach zero, you’re done spending. You can choose to have this budget reset each week, every month or year. It’s completely up to you. You can also clear the categories when you want and track your purchases whenever you want. Which is pretty nice to see.
Now the reason that you have to manually input your transactions is because Every Dollar Counts does not tie in with your bank account like some other apps do. Now this might be an issue for some, but for many this is a good thing. As you don’t want lots of apps having access to your bank account and personal information. After all that could be a good way to lose that money that you’ve saved up. Every Dollar Counts also does not use any personal information from you. This app is completely free. There are no in-app purchases, and the way the developer makes money is through ads within the app. Many users are asking – in the reviews – for an ad-free version. So we may see a premium or paid version of the app land on the Google Play Store in the near future.
