Dropbox is one of the more well-known services for cloud storage, and no matter how long you may have been using them, there is no doubt that most users find their services to be quite handy when it comes to storing virtually anything and accessing it from virtually anywhere. As of today, Dropbox is adding even more usefulness to their app and service, by adding support for Facebook Messenger users to directly share Dropbox files with others that they’re having a conversation with. If you’re an avid user of both apps on your device, this is ultimately something you might find invaluable going forward.
Dropbox states that the feature will be available within Facebook’s Messenger app on both Android and iOS as of today, meaning that users should be able to take advantage of it immediately so long as they have the latest version of each application installed on their device. Having said that, it’s entirely possible that not all users will see the feature available just yet and in that case, it may still take some time to show up. Getting to share Dropbox files directly from Messenger is easy, as all users will have to do is tap on the “more” button within Messenger and Dropbox will now be a displayed option for sharing content.
As Dropbox supports more than just one type of file, they have made it so this new direct share feature allows users to share pictures, videos, and other types of files in a quick and easy motion. This collaboration between Dropbox and Facebook helps both parties, as Dropbox potentially gets more users and Facebook potentially gets Messenger users to stay within the app longer now that they don’t have to travel out to hunt down that Dropbox folder they wanted to share with a friend. Dropbox states that videos and images are displayed directly in Messenger chat conversations, this includes GIFs, and it’s easy and fast. This integration of Dropbox within Messenger follows along with other app integration from the service, as they recently added support to open files fro Dropbox within a number of different Adobe apps.
