Xiaomi has already introduced their flagship smartphone for 2016, the Mi 5. This smartphone was introduced back in February, and Xiaomi has started teasing their upcoming phablet a while back. The company has asked consumers to vote on the name of their new phablet, and it turns out the Xiaomi Max name won, as most of you know by now. The device’s front panel, and a render leaked, and Xiaomi has already hinted that its display will be bigger than 6-inches. Well, another Xiaomi Max leak surfaced, read on.
If you take a look at the image above, you’ll get to see the first real life image of the Xiaomi Max. Unfortunately, this image shows us only the upper right portion of the phone, but it more or less confirms that the leaked front panel or render were spot on as far as the design is concerned. This image also reveals that the Xiaomi Max will be a huge device, looking at its position in the pocket more or less confirms that. Now, as you probably remember, the front panel which leaked touted three capacitive buttons on the front, while the render showed off a device with a physical home key, similar to the one on the Mi 5. Both of those phones look identical in the upper portion, so we wonder if the Mi 5 will sport a physical home key, or three capacitive buttons below the display. You can take a guess, but we won’t know for sure until Xiaomi opts to introduce the device, which will hopefully happen soon.
Now, previous leaks have indicated Xiaomi Max’s specs as well, and according to that info, the device will feature a 6.4-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display, and will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core SoC, and an Adreno 530 GPU. The metal build was also mentioned, and so was Android 6.0 Marshmallow which will ship with MIUI 7 OS on top of it. Keep in mind that one rumor indicated that this might be a mid-range handset, so these specs might not be as accurate as we would like. That is more or less it, all that remains now is to wait for Xiaomi release this phablet and remove all doubt.
UPDATE: It turns out this is Xiaomi’s official image, the company has shared this image via social media not long after it leaked.
