Honor Says Android 6.0 Marshmallow Coming To Honor 5x Soon

Huawei has been all over the next lately. The company has introduced their P9 and P9 Plus flagship handsets recently, while they’re also planning to unveil two more devices in the coming weeks. Huawei will announce the Honor 5C smartphone on April 28th, while the Honor V8 is expected to arrive on May 10th. Truth be told, both of these phones will be announced by Huawei’s subsidiary, Honor, but that company belongs under the Huawei umbrella either way. Anyhow, in addition to all that, Honor is also getting ready to release Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to one of their already released devices, read on.

The Huawei Honor 5X has been introduced back in October last year. The phone has been released with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with Huawei’s Emotion UI 3.1 on top of it. Well, Honor USA’s official twitter account has confirmed that the Android Marshmallow is coming on the Honor 5X soon. The company did not share the exact release date for the update, but you can expect it to hit Honor 5X devices in a couple of weeks, maybe even a couple of days. Now, the Honor 5X is now available in the US, and it can be purchased from Hihonor.com, Newegg and Amazon in three color options, Silver, Grey and Gold.

That being said, the Honor 5X is a very well-specced mid-range smartphone. This device sports a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD display, 2GB / 3GB RAM and 15GB of expandable internal storage. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 616 64-bit octa-core processor, along with the Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel snapper is placed on the back of this device, and a 5-megapixel unit is available up front. The 3,000mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it is not removable. There are two SIM card slots available here, and the Honor 5X is made out of metal. The device features on-screen keys, and it measures 151.3 x 76.3 x 8.2mm, while it weighs 158 grams. That is more or less it, the update is coming soon, we’ll let you know once it becomes available.
