HTC 10-related rumors, leaks and even official teasers have been leaking out for quite some time now. HTC has been teasing the great camera, beautiful design and great audio for their new flagship, and the company has finally unveiled the device moments ago. The HTC 10 is a direct successor to last year’s flagship, the One M9, though HTC opted to change its name to an extent. We’ve already covered the initial launch of the device and are here to take a closer look at its specifications, so let’s do that.
The HTC 10 is made out of metal, just like its predecessors, though unlike previous HTC-branded flagships, the HTC 10 does sport a capacitive home button (much like the OnePlus 2) which doubles as a fingerprint scanner. The device resembles HTC One A9 from the front, and company’s previous flagships from the back. The HTC 10 features a 5.2-inch QHD (2560 x 1440, 564ppi) Super LCD 5 display, along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card). Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core SoC fuels this phone, along with the Adreno 530 GPU for graphics. The 12-megapixel OIS UltraPixel 2 camera (f/1.8 aperture, auto HDR, Hyperlapse, 1.55um pixel size) is placed on the back of this phone, and can shoot RAW images, 4K video with 24-bit stereo audio and 12X slow motion video, and is flanked by a dual-LED flash and the Laser Autofocus. The 5-megapixel OIS selfie snapper (f/1.8 aperture, 1.34um pixel size, ultra wide-angle lens, auto-HDR) is also included in this package, as well as a 3,000mAh battery which is not removable. Speaking of the battery, the HTC 10 is also equipped with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 tech, and a Type-C USB 3.0 port is placed on the bottom of this handset.
The Dolby-enhanced BoomSound Hi-Fi is also included in the HTC 10 package, and you’ll be able to access its full potential if you plug in hi-res audio earphones in the 3.5mm headphone jack. Android Marshmallow comes out of the box here, and on top of it, you’ll find HTC’s very own Sense UI, as it’s the case with other HTC-branded Android devices. The HTC 10 also sports three microphones for noise cancellation, and they also help with hi-res audio stereo recording. You’ll need a Nano-SIM card in order to use this phone’s network, and 4G LTE (Cat. 9) connectivity is a given, and pretty much every single continent is covered, various network models will be available (support will vary depending on where you purchase the device). The Bluetooth 4.2 is also built into this phone, and so is Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, both 2.4GHz & 5GHz. The device comes in Glacier Silver, Carbon Grey, Topaz Gold and Camellia Red color variants. The device measures 145.9 x 71.9 x 9.0mm, while it weighs 161 grams.
