LeEco Announces May 3rd Event In India; Smart TVs Coming?

LeEco has been all over the news lately. This China-based company has held a press conference recently, and during the keynote, they’ve introduced a number of new devices. LeEco has announced three new smartphones, direct successors to their first handsets which were introduced back in April 2015. The company has announced Le 2, Le 2 Pro and the crown jewel, the Le Max 2. Along with those phones, LeEco has also announced two smart TVs, and a self-driving electric car prototype.

As you can see, the company had plenty to say during their press conference, and according to reports, they might even start selling their devices in the US before the end of this year, but nothing has been confirmed just yet. Well, LeEco is already selling their devices in the second largest smartphone market in the world, India. The company has actually released Le Max and Le 1s devices in India not that long ago, and they’ve just announced yet another event in India. LeEco has announced a May 3rd event in Mumbai, and along with the announcement they included this caption: “Block your date to witness the revolution Entertainment will play in a whole new way”. If you take a look at their official teaser image above, you’ll get to see a movie theatre being showcased. Now, many of who live in India are probably hoping to see LeEco announce their new smartphones, but based on this teaser, that is hardly going to happen. You will, however, get the company’s new smart TVs, though as I said, nothing has been confirmed just yet.

The company has introduced their Super 4 X50 and Super 4 X50 Pro smart TVs in China, and both are probably going to get announced in India as well. Both of these TVs pack in 3GB of RAM, while they also offer sleek design. LeEco didn’t exactly release all the info in China though, so we assume they will share far more information during their press conference in India. We do know, however, that the Super 4 X50 is priced at 2,499 Yuan ($385) in China, while the X50 Pro costs 2,699 Yuan ($416). If LeEco ends up announcing these smart TVs in India, you can expect them to be a bit more expensive, but not by much.
