Meizu has been teasing the arrival of their M3 Note handset for quite some time now, ever since the April 6th press event has been announced. We’ve seen tons of leaks and rumors when it comes to this phone, and most of them were spot on actually. This China-based company has announced this device quite recently in China, and it’s definitely an improvement over its predecessor in more than one way, read on.
First and foremost, it is worth noting that, unlike the M2 Note, the M3 Note sports a metal unibody build, which makes it both look and feel more premium. The device still sports really solid specs, especially considering its price point. The Meizu M3 Note features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) LTPS display, along with 2GB / 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM, and 16GB / 32GB of expandable internal storage. The 2GB RAM variant of the device ships with 16GB of internal storage, while the 3GB RAM model comes with 32GB of storage. MediaTek’s Helio P10 (MT6755) 64-bit octa-core processor fuels this handset, along with the Mali-T760 GPU. The 13-megapixel snapper (f/2.2 aperture, 5-element lens, PDAF) can be found on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel unit (f/2.0 aperture, 5-element lens) is available up front. There are two SIM card slots available inside of this phone, one of which can be used to expand the device’s internal storage. As far as software is concerned, this phone comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, on top of which you’ll find Meizu’s Flyme 5.1 UI, as expected.
The phone itself resembles previous Meizu-branded devices, it sports the physical home button below the display, which is also known as the multifunctional ‘mBack’ button, and the fingerprint scanner is placed inside of it. This fingerprint scanner is called mTouch 2.1, and it can unlock your phone in 0.48 seconds according to Meizu. The volume rocker and power / lock keys are placed on the right-hand side of this phone, while the aforementioned SIM card slot can be found on its left side. The Meizu M3 Note measures 153.8 x 75.6 x 8.2mm, while it weighs 150 grams. The device comes in Gray, Silver and Gold color options. Meizu has not released the pricing info just yet, stay tuned to this post, we’ll let you know once pricing gets announced.
UPDATE: The 2GB RAM (+16GB of internal storage) variant of the device is priced at 799 Yuan ($123) in China, while the 3GB RAM (+32GB of storage) model costs 999 Yuan ($154).
UPDATE 2: Meizu M3 Note will be available for purchase starting April 11th on Meizu’s official site and Jingdong Mall (JD.com).
