Motorola has introduced three devices in August last year, the Moto G (3rd-gen), Moto X Play and Moto X Pure (Style). The company has followed up with the release of the Droid Turbo 2 later in the year, and we’re all wondering what comes next for the company. As you all know, Motorola is now owned by Lenovo, and this China-based company has actually announced that the ‘Motorola’ branding will go away, and the ‘Moto’ devices will be called ‘Lenovo Moto’, which probably applies for the upcoming Moto G and Moto X devices which are expected to arrive in the third quarter of this year.
That being said, we haven’t really seen many Motorola-related rumors or leaks thus far this, but an interesting listing surfaced on Zauba quite recently. The rumored Moto X3 handset has popped up on the Indian import / export site, and thus more or less confirmed its existence. According to the available info, this will be a 5-inch handset, and this specific model sports only one SIM card slot. The test units were shipped from the US to India last month, and they’re priced at Rs. 6,812. Now, don’t take this pricing into consideration at all, as these are just test units and the pricing is nowhere near the final product. Now, we still don’t know when will this handset going to be announced, but considering the timing of this listing, the Moto X3 might be announced before the aforementioned three Moto-branded devices, which means this might be the first ‘Lenovo Moto’ handset announced by the company.
Now, we can guess whether this will be an entry-level, mid-range or high-end handset, but the truth of the matter is, we don’t have any info regarding that at the moment. We’re guessing that this is not a flagship phone considering that the Moto X Pure’s successor will be introduced later this year, so it’s possible that this is an entry-level or mid-range offering by the company. Either way, we’ll let you know if any additional info surfaces, so stay tuned for that. It will be interesting to see what will this handset look like, will Lenovo stick to Motorola’s design language, or are we going to see something completely different this time around.
