Oppo is one of the largest China-based smartphone manufacturing companies. This company has managed to sell 50 million smartphones last year, which can be considered a great success for Oppo, mainly because the availability of their phones is quite limited, China and India are their main markets. Oppo R7 and R7 Plus handsets were amongst the best selling Oppo-branded smartphones last year, and it seems like their successors are doing really well this year, read on.
The company has introduced their Oppo R9 and R9 Plus handsets last month, and according to the offline sales data gathered by an independent research company, Sino MR, the Oppo R9 is selling really well thus far. Oppo has managed to sell 180 000 Oppo R9 units during the first flash sale on March 24th, and just four days later, the company’s Oppo R9 sales reached 400 000 units. It was reported that the company managed to sell around 15 million Oppo R7 and R7 Plus units last year, and judging by initial interesting in the Oppo R9, it will be interesting what happens by the end of this year. Vivo (12.1%) and Apple (11.2%) follow Oppo (13%) in terms of March offline sales in China, while Huawei is currently placed fourth (9.4%), and its sub-brand Honor is also doing really well (4.5%).
The Oppo R9 is also known as the Oppo F1 Plus in India, just in case you weren’t aware of that. This smartphone sports a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The phone is fueled by MediaTek’s Helio P10 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 2,850mAh battery is also a part of the package. The 13-megapixel snapper is placed on the back of this phone, and a 16-megapixel shooter can be found up front, hence the ‘selfie phone’ nickname. The Oppo R9 is made out of metal, and it offers fast charging as well, just in case you were wondering. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this handset with Oppo’s Color OS 3.0 on top of it. The device measures 151.8 x 74.3 x 6.6mm, while it weighs 145 grams.
