For many, tomorrow will be a big day in the Android and wider mobile world. This is thanks to an event being hosted by HTC when it is fully expected that the company will announce their latest flagship smartphone in the form of the HTC 10. The latest in the line of One M devices, but one which comes without the ‘One M’ moniker. Which could be a sign of a new way forward for this particular line of devices. However, it is possible that the HTC 10 will not be the only handset which is unveiled at tomorrow’s event.
The reason for the late suggestion of (at least) two HTC handsets being unveiled tomorrow, is the EXIF data for an image which has now surfaced and is said to have come from an unnamed developer who posted the image to Google+. What is interesting is that the EXIF data clearly notes the image was taken by a device labelled the ‘HTC 10 Lifestyle’. And this is largely the entirety of this latest rumor. As it is now being suggested that as well as the HTC 10, HTC could also unveil a Lifestyle variant of the handset. Which could of course, even lead to the possibility of more variants as well.
Besides the name, the EXIF data does also notes that the resolution of the camera is in line with what is expected from the HTC 10. So there is the argument that either both handsets will sport a similar camera experience level or that this could simply be the HTC 10 under a different name. Of course, this is not the first time that there has been suggestions of two different HTC 10 models as there were also rumors which surfaced recently about a discrepancy in the processor, thanks to a Snapdragon 652 variant being rumored. As it would be expected that the HTC 10 would come with the Snapdragon 820 included, it could be the case that the Lifestyle variant comes sporting the 652. Which would then account for both sets of rumors. Either way, it really is not that long until all is known about the latest from HTC and whether there is one smartphone on the way, or two.
