Oppo was quite successful last year, this Chinese smartphone manufacturer has shipped out 50 million smartphones. The Oppo R7 and R7 Plus handsets were quite popular last year, and were amongst the company’s best selling devices with over 15 million sold units. That being said, Oppo has introduced their successors last month, the Oppo R9 and R9 Plus. These two phones were announced in China last month, and Oppo expanded their availability today, but under a different name, read on.
I don’t know if you recall, but the Oppo-branded F1 and F1 Plus handsets were introduced back in January in India, these two phones are essentially a re-branded Oppo R9 and R9 Plus units. That being said, the company has announced the European availability of the F1 Plus unit earlier today. This selfie-centric handset will cost €389 or £299 in Europe (depending on where you live), though the company did not discuss any US launch plans thus far. The Oppo F1 Plus is already available in India in Rose Gold or Gold color option, and the 64GB storage model costs Rs. 26,990 ($406). Oppo has also said that the Oppo F1 Plus will be available in Vietnam, Malaysia, Egypt, Kenya and Morocco soon after its European launch which will take place last month.
The Oppo F1 Plus features a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of expandable internal storage. This handset is fueled by MediaTek’s Helio P10 (MT6755) 64-bit octa-core SoC, which is MediaTek’s mid-range processor. This chip ships with the Mali-T860 MP2 GPU for graphics rendering. The 13-megapixel snapper (f/2.2 aperture, 80.6-degree wide-angle lens) is placed on the back of this phone, and a whopping 16-megapixel shooter (f/2.0 aperture, 78.1-degree wide-angle lens) is available up front. The fingerprint scanner is built into the physical home button on the front side of the device, and a 2,850mAh battery is also a part of this package, while you can charge it using Oppo’s VOOC Flash Charge technology. This phone offers two SIM card slots, 4G LTE connectivity, it measures 151.8 x 74.3 x 6.6mm, and it weighs 145 grams.
