Sony is one of the largest tech companies in the world, but their smartphone sales aren’t exactly doing as great as Sony wants them to. The company has introduced new Xperia X devices during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona back in February, but those phones didn’t really manage to make a great impact thus far. That being said, two new Xperia-branded devices have surfaced on GFXBench, let’s take a look what’s coming, shall we.
Both of the device listed on GFXBench sports small displays by today’s standards, they come with 4.6-inch panels, and are actually quite similar in terms of specs. The Sony F3216 and F3311 have the same display size, but the resolution is different. The first smartphone comes with a 720p (1280 x 720) resolution, while the latter sports a fullHD (1920 x 1080) display. Both devices feature 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, but their camera sensors and processors are different. The F3216 is fueled by the Helio P10 (MT6755) 64-bit octa-core SoC by MediaTek, and it is clocked at 1.9GHz. The F3311, on the other hand, comes with the MT6735 64-bit quad-core processor, which is also manufactured by MediaTek. The F3216 features a 20-megapixel snapper on the back, and a 16-megapixel unit up front, while the F3311 sports a 13MP and 5MP combination. Android 6.0 Marshmallow is listed for both the F3216 and F3311, which are great news. Sony will, of course, include their very own skin on top of Google’s OS, so keep that in mind.
So, as you can see, these two are mid-range offerings by Sony, and the second device can even be considered a low-to-mid range smartphone. The first handset is quite probably next in line of Xperia C devices considering it sports the 16-megapixel front-facing shooter, and the second one might be a part of that series as well, but we’re still not sure. Both of these phones will be quite small, hence easily pocketable, and chances are we’ll see those phones announced in the coming weeks.
