VR headsets are anything but sleek and slim, and generally can be a bit obnoxious to wear on your head. Not only that but keeping a headset on your head means some obvious problems for doing things outside of VR, often times forcing you to exit the VR experience just to perform rudimentary daily tasks. One such issue of course would be using your phone while in VR, a task that might be an issue for owners of any VR headset but the HTC Vive. Thankfully HTC thought of this issue before hand and actually has a built-in utility for connecting to your phone straight from the HTC Vive.
First you’ll need to make sure to get your HTC Vive setup and that Vive Home app installed as we show you in our setup video. Next of course is the all important task of grabbing the Vive app on your phone, which can be found on the Google Play Store. Once you have these elements in place you’re ready to go on pairing your phone to the Vive. You can do all of this while in the headset of course by using the handy Desktop view, however it’s likely a bit easier to just jump on your computer and get that set up.
