Vivo has been one of the more interesting Chinese smartphone manufacturers lately. This company has introduced the world’s first 6GB RAM smartphone recently, the Vivo Xplay 5. This handset also sports the ‘Dual Edge’ display, and is made out of metal. Aside from the Xplay 5, Vivo has also rolled out the Vivo X6 and X6 Plus back in November last year, and has introduced their successors (X6S and X6S Plus) about two weeks ago. These two handsets have been announced, but haven’t been available for sale, well, until now.
The company has announced that the Vivo X6S and X6S Plus are now available for sale in China. The Vivo X6S costs 2,598 Yuan ($402) if you opt to buy it from the company, while the X6S Plus is priced at 2,998 Yuan ($464). The Vivo X6S Plus pricing is actually somewhat different than what was originally announced, Vivo first said that the device will cost 3,198 Yuan ($495), but it seems like they’ve decided to lower its price below 3,000 Yuan. As far as specs go, the Vivo X6S sports a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage. This handset is fueled by the Snapdragon 652 64-bit octa-core SoC, and packs in a 2,400mAh non-removable battery. The 13-megapixel snapper is placed on the back of this phone, and Android 5.1 Lollipop comes out of the box with Vivo’s Funtouch OS available on top of Google’s offering.
The Vivo X6S Plus, on the other hand, sports a larger, 5.7-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED panel. This handset also ships with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage, and is fueled by the Snapdragon 652 64-bit octa-core SoC. The 3,000mAh battery is available on the inside of this phone, and a 16-megapixel camera (PDAF included) is placed on the back of the device. Android 5.1 Lollipop is available out of the box here, and on top fo which you’ll find the same Funtouch UI version as on the Vivo X6S.
