Xiaomi has introduced several devices this year, the Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3 Pro and their new flagship, the Mi 5. That being said, all these handsets have been available for purchase in China, but not all of them are yet available in India. Well, we have some good news for those of you who live in India considering the fact that Xiaomi decided to offer a number of their devices for open sale in the country today, read on.
The company has announced that the open sale for the Xiaomi Mi 5 and Redmi Note 3 is kicking off as we speak in India (2PM IST). Keep in mind that the company is offering the regular Mi 5 model in India only, so the variant which sports 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, the 64GB model is not available, and neither is the Mi 5 Pro (4GB of RAM + 128GB of internal storage). As far as Redmi Note 3 is concerned, both the 2GB of RAM + 16GB of internal storage, and 3GB of RAM + 32GB of internal storage variants are available. In addition to this, the company is also selling the 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank in India as well. The Xiaomi Mi 5 is priced at Rs. 24,999 ($376), while the two variants of Redmi Note 3 cost Rs. 9,999 ($151) and Rs. 11,999 ($181), respectively. The 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank will set you back Rs. 1,699 ($26) should you choose to buy it.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 features a 5.15-inch fullHD display, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (the variants available in India). The Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core SoC fuels this smartphone, and a 3,000mAh battery is also a part of the package, and it is not removable. The 16-megapixel snapper is placed on the back of this phone, and a 4-megapixel camera (2um pixel size) can be found on the back of it. The Redmi Note 3, on the other hand, comes sporting a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 650 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 4,1000mAh battery. The 16-megapixel snapper is placed on the back of Xiaomi’s mid-ranger, and you also get 2GB / 3GB of RAM and 16GB / 32GB of internal storage, depending on the variant. The Xiaomi Mi 5 ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and MIUI 7, while the Redmi Note 3 comes with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and also MIUI 7 on top of it.
