YouTube version 11.13 has just hit the Google Play Store. For the most part, it’s a pretty small update. There are a few changes included here, but for the most part it’s all in the video player portion of the app. Before it was pretty minimal, giving you the ability to play/pause in the center. With a line at the bottom showing you how long the video is and how much you’ve watched, and a few options up top. Now in the upper left-hand corner, it’ll show you the video’s title along with the channel name and total views just below that. It’s not too intrusive, and is nice to see, for those that might be interested in seeing what channel you’re on and how many views the video may have.
As you’d expect, these changes only appear in landscape mode. Mostly because it would be redundant in portrait seeing as all that information is below the player in the app. Now of course, when it goes back to the immersive full screen, all that information disappears, just as you have now in the current version of YouTube, with the other information on the screen.
This version of YouTube is on its way to your device now and you should be seeing it land on your device in the next few days. Of course, for those that can’t wait, we do have the updated APK listed below for you to check out. The update is a pretty small one, considering that’s the only change that people have found in the update – as usual, Google has not yet provided a changelog. There are likely plenty of bug fixes, performance improvements and things of that nature also included in this update.
If you want to sideload the update, you can download it from the link below. You’ll want to make sure that ‘Unknown Sources” are checked on your device (Settings > Security > Unknown Sources) and then you’ll be all set. Just tap on the APK to open it and let it install. Within a few seconds your existing YouTube app will be replaced with the new one, and you’ll be at version 11.13.
