Eight New Xiaomi Mi Band 2 Real Life Images Surface

Xiaomi has been in the center of attention lately. The company’s Xiaomi Max (also called Mi Max) phablet has been leaking out for weeks now, and it will be introduced today. The company will also unveil the new version of their Android-based OS today, the MIUI 8. Some rumors indicated that the Mi Band 2 fitness tracker will also going to be announced alongside the Xiaomi Max and MIUI 8, but that won’t happen, the company’s CEO has confirmed quite recently. It seems like Xiaomi is facing some production issues when it comes to the Mi Band 2, which resulted in a 1-month announcement delay.

That being said, Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s CEO, has already shown off the Mi Band 2 in an official image, and a separate leak showcased the device yet again not long ago. Well, a new leak surfaced in China earlier today, and it contains quite a few images of the company’s upcoming fitness tracker. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see eight new images of the Xiaomi Mi Band 2. It seems like the device will sport a very familiar looking silicone band (almost identical to the one seen in the 1st-gen device), and the tracker itself will resemble the 1st-gen Mi Band, but only in general shape. The Mi Band 2 will, unlike its predecessor, sport a display up front, and will also ship with a heart rate sensor on the back, just like the Mi Band 1s. This will be Xiaomi’s first fitness tracker to offer a display, and represents a considerable step forward compared to their previous fitness trackers, that’s for sure. The display will be able to show us battery status, how many steps we’ve taken, heart rate stats, time and the speed at which we’re moving at the moment. It is possible the device will ship some additional stats, but this information was mentioned in a recent leak.

That being said, the company’s CEO did say that the Mi Band 2 has been delayed for one month, which probably means we’ll get to see it announced before the end of June. The Mi Band 2 will, much like its predecessor, going to be really affordable. The Mi Band and Mi Band 2 were both priced below $20, so it will be interesting to see how much will the Mi Band 2 cost.
