Anybody who’s ever had to manage any event at any scale will tell you two things; first, that things can get really ugly really quickly. Second, organization is key. Events.com is a website focused on trying to take some of the pain out of organizing an event, with handy features like reminders, invitations and check-ins. Of course, these functions would all be a bit easier with a dedicated app that syncs across devices and that’s exactly what Events.com has rolled out. Their new Event Assistant app, live in the Play Store right now, gives users access to nearly all of the same features found on the website.
The app allows event planners to access a wealth of features, including participant check-in and lookup, on-site and cancelled registrations in real time, stats for monitoring the progress of the overall event’s check-ins, scanning and validation of unique attendee numbers, and even e-signatures for waivers. Participants can be looked up in an event by QR code, voice or normal typed search. When a participant checks in, they can be verified via a selfie, allowing for easy identification. With each attendee assigned a unique ID, things like raffles and surveys at events become much easier, as does participant tracking. All of this data syncs across devices, so long as they’re connected to the internet and signed into the same account, allowing multiple check-in points without having to worry about duplicate check-ins. As icing on the cake, an offline mode allows users to access all of the event data and make changes as needed with or without a network connection, though cross-device sync does require a connection in order to work.
The app serves as a companion to Events.com, where users can create events and monitor them a bit more closely than with the mobile app. Once an event is created on the website, it can, of course, be run completely through the app. For the time being, the app is only available for Android, though an iOS version is quite likely in the future. Whether you’re set to organize your first event in the near future or are a veteran user of Events.com with hundreds of parties under your belt, head to Google Play to add mobile devices to your planning arsenal and make things a little bit easier.
