After weeks of various leaks and rumors, Honor has finally decided to announce their Honor V8 handset. This has happened earlier this month, May 10th to be exact. This handset isn’t exactly the most powerful device Huawei has released, but it is the most powerful phone Huawei’s Honor subsidiary released to this day. The device is made out of metal, and it looks really sleek overall, while it also sports two camera sensors on the back and has lots to offer in terms of specifications as well.
That being said, the first teardown of this device has surfaced online, courtesy of IT168. The source mentions that the Honor V8 is not exactly the easiest phone to repair, this handset sports a metal unibody design, and even though Huawei did a really good job with its design, the teardown process isn’t exactly for everyone. Don’t get me wrong though, the company did a great job here and they didn’t use too much glue or anything like that, so if you know what you’re doing, the Honor V8 shouldn’t be all that difficult to repair. The Huawei Honor V8 is actually available in several different variants. One variant of this device sports a fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, while the other one comes with a QHD (2560 x 1440) panel. Both of these versions sport 5.7-inch panels though, and ship with 4GB of RAM. The variant with a fullHD panel is fueled by a Kirin 950 64-bit octa-core processor and ships with 32GB of internal storage, while the higher-end model comes with the Kirin 955 64-bit octa-core processor, and sports 64GB of native storage. Both devices look identical on the outside, and offer you a way to expand storage (microSD card up to 128GB). There are two 12-megapixel cameras located on the back of the Honor V8, and an 8-megapixel snapper can be found up front. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on this device, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find Huawei’s Emotion UI skin. The device measures 157 x 77.6 x 7.8mm, while it weighs 170 grams.
