Google Apps for Work helps plenty of businesses communicate and operate efficiently, and today Google has just announced that they have purchased Synergyse, a company that will help them to bolster the Google Apps for Work platform. Synergyse is essentially a Google Cloud-based training coach for Google Apps for Work. It will allow for an onboarding process to take place to train employees on the Apps for Work platform from the beginning as well as continuously after new features are added, helping businesses to be more productive and stay that way.
Synergyse has reportedly trained more than 4 million people in the few years since it’s been established back in 2013, making it less of a surprise why Google would want to scoop them up. As part of the acquisition, Google plans on offering the Synergyse training to all Google Apps for Work customers free of charge and states that they should be rolling out the training platform to customers later this year, although they didn’t give specific dates for when it will be part of the Google Apps package. For those who may want to get started with Synergyse’s training coach right away instead of waiting for the integration to take place, Google mentions that there is a free Chrome extension that can be installed that will grant new users access.
In addition to the Chrome extension, those who have already been customers of Synergyse will continue to have access to the training using their existing credentials. Acquiring Synergyse also makes sense for Google as they see a significant increase (about 35 percent on average) in the adoption of Google Apps for Work from businesses who are using the Synergyse training coaches to learn about the Google Apps platform. While this is a boost for Google as more people are using their services, Google Apps for Work can help businesses be more productive, and having the proper training on using the Apps products makes it more likely for that productivity to become a reality. Having Synergyse on board will also help Google to broaden the training offers as more people sign up to use Google Apps for Work.
