Recently, Google decided to rebrand the logos and icons used for the different parts of Google Play. So Google Play, Google Play Movies & TV, Google Play Books, Google Play Music, Google Play Newsstand and Google Play Games all got a new logo, which were still pretty similar to each other. Basically it’s a triangle with a small logo inside that depicts which app it is. For example, the Google Play Music logo has a music note in the center of it. The logo also uses the same color as the UI in the app. So with Google Play Newsstand, the icon is in purple. Now the Google Play Developer Console has gotten a new logo.
Previously, the Google Play Developer console used the same logo as the Google Play Store (the old logo). Now we have a new logo, that fits in with the other Google Play logos, and we have part of a line-graph in the middle. Something you would see on an analytics app logo. It still fits in quite nicely here though. Considering the Developer Console does offer up analytics for your published apps, as well as allowing developers to publish apps and updates. It’s not a big update to the developer console, but it is a noticeable one. And it’s a bit more material than it used to be. The old logo was looking a bit outdated, especially since it was the old Google Play logo that is no longer used.
With Google I/O set to kick off in just a few hours, we could see some updates coming to the Developer Console in the next few hours, seeing as it is a developer’s conference. Most Google apps typically get updated after the keynote, which starts at 10am PT. We’ll of course have full coverage of Google I/O, including all of the developer-related announcements that will be coming our way in just a few hours.
If you’d like to check out the updated logo for the Google Play Developers Console, just head to the developer console, and you’ll be able to check it out. Now keep in mind that if you aren’t a developer, you’ll be presented with the sign-up page. Which you’ll still be able to check out the refreshed logo on the page, in the upper left-hand corner.
