ASUS’ ZenFone 2 devices were quite popular last year. This Taiwan-based company has rolled out a number of ZenFone 2 devices in 2015, and the first batch arrived in January during CES 2015 in Las Vegas. One of the ZenFone 2 devices (ZE551ML) actually sported 4GB of RAM, and was the first such smartphone out in the market. That being said, the company has already scheduled the May 30th press event during which they intend to release the next-gen ZenFone 3 device(s). We’ve already seen a number of official teasers when it comes to this device / these devices, including some rumors, leaks and even benchmarks. If you’d like to know more about that, read our ‘What To Expect’ article.
Now, if previously leaked content is to be believed, the ASUS ZenFone 3 (one variant at least) is expected to sport with 6GB of RAM. Well, according to what seems to be ASUS’ leaked teaser, that will definitely be the case. As you can see, this image contains a huge number 6 on it, which definitely suggests we’ll see 6GB of RAM on one of the ZenFone 3 devices. The leaked info claims that ASUS plans to release both 4GB and 6GB RAM variants of the ZenFone 3, and three variants are expected to land, the ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Deluxe and ZenFone 3 Max. We cannot confirm this info just yet, so take it with a grain of salt, as always.
Now, as far as rumored specs go. If leaks are to be believed, the ZenFone 3 will be a true flagship smartphone. This device is expected to sport a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, 4GB / 6GB of RAM and multiple internal storage variants. The Deluxe variant of the device might ship with up to 128GB or even 256GB of internal storage, while the regular model will probably sport 32GB or 64GB of storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core SoC is rumored to fuels the ZenFone 3, and a 23-megapixel camera has been teased by the company, at least that’s what it seemed like. The ZenFone 3 will probably be made out of metal, and it remains to be seen how much will it cost. All of the ZenFone 2 devices were quite affordable, especially when the competition is concerned, so we do expect the ZenFone 3 not to be all that expensive, but we’ll see.
