LeEco (formerly Letv) is one of the more interesting China-based smartphone manufacturing companies. This company has released their first three devices in April last year, and has managed to sell quite a few smartphones in the first year of sales. LeEco has been around for a long time under the Letv brand, though they did not enter the smartphone market until 2015. The company has rolled out their second-gen flagship offerings last month in China, and it seems like Le 2 (Pro) and Le Max 2 might arrive to India soon as well, read on.
The company has started sending out invites for the June 8th event in New Delhi. These will not be the first devices LeEco will introduce in India this year, they’ve already rolled out the Le 1s Eco recently. Now, to make things interesting, the source claims only the Le 2 and Le Max 2 will be coming, the Le 2 Pro has not been mentioned at all, though it is possible that device will be released as well. The LeEco Le 2 features a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. This handset is fueled by MediaTek’s Helio X20 64-bit deca-core SoC running at 2.3GHz, along with the Mali-T880 GPU. The 3,000mAh battery is also a part of this package, and as far as software goes, you do get Android Marshmallow here with LeEco’s custom skin on top of it. The Le Max 2 is LeEco’s current flagship device. This is a 5.7-inch phablet which ships with a QHD (2560 x 1440) panel. The phone comes with 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of expandable internal storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core processor fuels the Le Max 2, and a 21-megapixel shooter can be found on the back of this phablet. The 8-megapixel camera is located up front, while you’ll find a 3,100mAh battery on the inside. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes out of the box here with LeEco’s custom UI.
The LeEco Le 2 is priced at 1,099 Yuan ($170) in China, while the two variants of Le Max 2 cost 2,099 Yuan ($324) and 2,499 Yuan ($386). Now, the Le 2 is expected to cost Rs. 11,999 ($177) in India, while the Le Max 2’s pricing might start at Rs. 24,999 ($370). Do keep in mind these prices have not been confirmed at this point, and we still don’t know if both 4GB and 6GB RAM models of Le Max 2 will reach India, nor do we know if the Le 2 Pro will land. Stay tuned for more information, we do expect some info to surface before the announcement.
