The highly anticipated OnePlus 3 should be officially introduced in the next couple of weeks, and as the days go by, the terminal continues to reach the headlines teasing its imminent arrival. Today, the OnePlus 3 was spotted once again in China passing through TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC), and this time around the model certified by the Chinese regulatory agency was none other than the OnePlus 3 boasting 6GB of RAM.
Last month a series of leaks emerged hinting at the possibility that OnePlus’ next flagship phone will be launched in two main variants: one equipped with 4GB of RAM, and another flaunting a whopping 6 GB of RAM instead. Over the past couple of weeks or so, the OnePlus 3 with 4GB of RAM was spotted online on several occasions, but its superior counterpart was nowhere to be seen. This changed today as the aforementioned model finally passed through TENAA to acquire its certificate. The device is identified by model number “OnePlus A3000” and is equipped with 64GB of internal memory, along with 6GB of RAM. Otherwise, the OnePlus A3000 seems to be equipped with a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, covered in 2.5D glass, and relies on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC with four cores clocked at up to 2.15 GHz each. In the media department, the OnePlus 3 offers a 16-megapixel camera, along with a 5-megapixel front-facing sensor seemingly capable of capturing high-quality selfies. Lastly, the OnePlus 3 runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and relies on a 3,000mAh battery to keep the lights on.
According to recent reports, the OnePlus 3 should be officially announced in mid-June. Until then, OnePlus asks fans of the brand to sign up for “The Lab” program where they can be picked for reviewing a free OnePlus 3 unit and providing feedback for improving the user experience. While the OnePlus 3’s final price is unknown, it’s likely that the smartphone will follow in the footsteps of its predecessors and hit the market in a relatively affordable price range, but either way, the model with 6GB of RAM will cost extra. Previous reports hint at a price tag of roughly $310, but this has yet to be confirmed by the Chinese smartphone maker so it remains subject to change.
