Oppo is one of the largest China-based smartphone manufacturers at the moment, even though people outside of Asia don’t know much about this company. Oppo has managed to sell 50 million smartphones last year, and they’re aiming to do even better this year. Their sales have been going great in the first quarter of this year, and it will be interesting to see what happens before the end of the year.
That being said, the Oppo R7 and R7 Plus were amongst the best selling Oppo-branded handsets last year. The company has managed to sell 15 million Oppo R7 and R7 Plus devices in 2015, and they’re looking to do even better with the Oppo R9 and R9 Plus, two devices which were announced earlier this year. Speaking of the Oppo R9, it seems like the FC Barcelona Edition of this smartphone is on its way. Oppo has been teasing this variant of the device for a while now, and now the device has surfaced on Weibo (Chinese social network). Oppo has already mentioned that the device will be available in an exclusive red color, and that it will ship with customized UI and ringtones. The Limited Edition handset will be signed by FC Barcelona players, and the phone will, allegedly, going to be quite affordable.
Now, if you take a look at the provided leak, you’ll notice that pretty much everything we’ve mentioned in the previous paragraph (leaked info) is accurate. The device will arrive in Red and Silver color variants, and the FC Barcelona logo can be found on its back. Other than what was already mentioned, this is still the same Oppo R9 the company has released earlier this year, or at least it seems that way. The phone sports the same size, weight and internals, and aside from the paint job, it looks identical as well. Last year’s special edition device shipped with some additional goodies, and we do expect Oppo to do the same this year. The Oppo R9 sports a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device is fueled by the Helio P10 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 16-megapixel shooter is placed on its back. The 13-megapixel snapper can be found on the front side of this phone, and a 2,850mAh battery is also a part of this package, as well as Oppo’s VOOC Flash Charge fast charging solution. The FC Barcelona edition of this smartphone is expected to arrive soon, stay tuned.
