Yesterday saw the first indications that Resident Evil 5 was on its way to Android TV. Well, one Android TV device that is, as the game was scheduled to launch today as an NVIDIA SHIELD exclusive. To cut to the chase, it is now available. Resident Evil 5 is live on Google Play and can be downloaded for owners of the SHIELD. In terms of price, this is a game which is currently available for $9.99. However, this is a launch price and represents a third off its normal $14.99 price. So if you’re planning on picking it up, then you might want to do so sooner rather than later and certainly before the price does jump up to $15. It is also worth pointing out that this is not a small game. Resident Evil 5 is playable in HD and at 30fps and this does mean that it occupies quite a bit of your local storage. 5.5GB to be exact. So you will want to make sure that you have enough storage available on your system and expect the possibility of a lengthy initial download.
That all said, Resident Evil 5 is here and if you do like the style, flow and gore of the Resident Evil franchise, then this is one you will want to be checking out. Chris Redfield is back in this latest episode and this time finds himself in Africa where a new virus outbreak has emerged. One which as you would expect, looks to be the work of the Umbrella Corporation. In terms of gameplay, initial impressions of the game are right in line with what you would expect from the Resident Evil series. Gameplay is fluid and seems very well catered towards use on the SHIELD. The game also offers a two-player co-op mode so you and a friend can play together to try and defeat the threat.
