The Samsung Galaxy C5 has been leaking for a long time now. Leaks have suggested that this will be a well-specced mid-range smartphone from Samsung, and that it will be made out of metal. The phone has been certified by TENAA already, and thanks to a number of benchmark listings, we already knew pretty much everything about this device. That being said, the Galaxy C7 has also started surfacing recently, and we initially thought that the company will introduce these two phones at the same time in China, but Samsung opted to release only the Galaxy C5 earlier today, read on.
The company has pretty much confirmed all the info that was roaming around lately. The Galaxy C5 is a metal-clad smartphone which sports a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLEd display, 4GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of expandable internal storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 617 64-bit octa-core processor, along with the Adreno 405 GPU. The 16-megapixel shooter is placed on the back of the Galaxy C5, and an 8-megapixel camera can be found on its front side. The phone comes with a 2,600mAh battery which is not removable, and it also sports a hybrid dual-SIM slot. 4G LTE connectivity is also a part of this package, and so is the fingerprint scanner which is built into the physical home button on this device. The device measures 145.9 x 72 x 6.7mm, while it weighs 143 grams.
The Samsung Galaxy C5 comes in Gold, Pink Gold, Gray and Silver color options. The 32GB variant of this smartphone costs 2,199 Yuan ($335) in China, while the 64GB model comes with a price of 2,399 Yuan ($365). The Galaxy C5 can be pre-ordered starting today in the country, and pre-orders will be opened until June 5th. Samsung is expected to start shipping pre-ordered devices by June 17th (at least the pink variant of the device), and we presume that the phone will be available for open sale after that. That is pretty much it, this is the Galaxy C5, a rather well-specced mid-range device. It remains to be seen how well will the phone sell in China, Samsung is doing really well as far as sales go in most regions, but not in China, so they could really benefit from the Galaxy C5 if it turns out consumers are interested.
