Samsung Release 3 New TV Commercials For The Galaxy S7

Over the years, Samsung Electronics became known for its ingenious and / or humorous TV commercials, and this year is no different. Following the official announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S7 series, the Korean tech giant released a handful of commercials designed to showcase some of the flagship’s most impressive characteristics. The company even employed Lil Wayne in what proved to be a successful marketing campaign, having the hip hop star pouring champagne on a Samsung Galaxy S7 and highlight the smartphone’s water resistant capabilities. More recently – as in last weekend – Samsung released three new TV commercials for the Galaxy S7 and published them on the official Samsung Mobile YouTube page. They’re called “Sink”, “Friends”, and “Sister”, and once again they aim to make prospective customers aware of certain characteristics flaunted by the new flagship.

As the title may have already revealed, the “Sink” TV commercial is all about showcasing the Samsung Galaxy S7 series’ water resistant capabilities. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy S6 launched last year which wasn’t protected from elements, the company’s latest flagship phone is IP68-certified, which means that is should be able to survive for 30 minutes while submerged in up to 1.5 meters of water. The TV commercial paints a scenario where a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge owner drops the terminal in a sink full of water while receiving an anticipated phone call, only to find out that no damage has been done in the process.

The second TV commercial called “Friends” showcases another Samsung product (or service) along with the Galaxy S7, namely Samsung Pay. Samsung Pay is the company’s mobile payment system released last year as a response to Apple Pay, and the Samsung Galaxy S7 is one of the few smartphones to support it. Samsung Pay allows users to make payments at contactless merchant terminals using NFC or MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission). The third and last TV commercial is called “Sister” and highlights the Samsung Galaxy S7’s new powerful camera, specifically the sensor’s low-light photography capabilities facilitated by Dual Pixel Autofocus technology. The camera setup consists of a 12-megapixel, 1/2.6” sensor with 1.4-micron pixels and an f/1.7 aperture, as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with the same aperture and auto HDR. Needless to say, there are plenty of reasons to like the Samsung Galaxy S7 lineup, and the new TV commercials seem to carry this message across with relative ease.
