While most of Sony’s focus this year has been stated by Sony to be on the Xperia X lineup, that doesn’t mean that they won’t be putting time and effort into developing and manufacturing other devices. The Xperia C6 is an unannounced device that Sony is rumored to be launching in the future, and renders of the Xperia C6 have been leaked before, showing off the familiar Sony-style design of the outer body that can be seen on so many of their most recent smartphones. There has even been a leak of the Xperia C6 out in the wild sporting a design that matched up with the renders that surfaced months earlier.
Today, renders of a device called the Sony Xperia C6 Ultra have leaked online alongside a series of unconfirmed hardware specifications for the phone from Nowhereelse, the same source from the previous renders of the Xperia C6 that showed up back at the end of January. Today’s renders also match up with the leaks of the phone in the wild, (which may suggest the Xperia C6 and the Xperia C6 Ultra are one in the same) showing off the large camera sensor being referred to as the selfie camera on the front along with a nearly bezel-free display that looks similar to Sony’s Xperia XA device.
As for the specifications, the Xperia C6 Ultra is rumored to come with a 6-inch Full HD display and come powered by MediaTek’s 1.9GHz octa-core MT6755 processor and a Mali-T680 GPU, with 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM for the memory, and a microSD card slot for expandable storage. The front-facing “selfie” camera is said to be 16MP which should allow for a decent image although most of that relies on the sensor quality and not on the MP count. Over on the back, the camera is said to be 20MP, with both front and back cameras accompanied by an LED flash to allow for better lighting conditions in darker situations. Currently, Sony has not confirmed the existence of the handset, so there is no way of knowing what specs are true if any, but more details should surface in the weeks and months ahead.
