T-Mobile Update To Fix Button Issues On Galaxy S7/S7 Edge

Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge devices were met with quite a bit of enthusiasm following their announcement, and since their launch on multiple networks worldwide, Samsung has seen quite a bit of profit. This doesn’t mean the devices were exempt from having any issues. T-Mobile subscribers with the Galaxy S7 or the Galaxy S7 Edge may have noticed an issue with the power button and/or volume keys on the device which was causing them not to work. A temporary fix for this was just to initiate a reboot and the button issues should have disappeared for the time being.

T-Mobile has addressed the issues with the power button and volume keys and has set out to resolve the problem for customers with a software update that’s being sent out to Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge devices starting today. The software being sent out is labeled as baseband version G930TUVU2APD7, and comes in at around 164MB in file size. Due to the size of the download, it’s recommended that users be connected to a local WiFi network as the speeds should be better and the download won’t eat up 164MB of your monthly data. In addition, having a full battery charge on the device is also a good idea.

Aside from the power button and volume key fix for each device, T-Mobile lists that various system improvements are also part of the software update. This doesn’t give any specifics, so T-Mobile subscribers with the Galaxy S7 or the Galaxy S7 Edge should simply expect the device to run smoother once the update is finished and the device has rebooted. Although the update begins hitting devices today, not all users are going to receive the software update today. This means there are some device owners who may not see the update until sometime later on this week, however, you can always check for the software update manually by navigating to the settings menu on the device, going to about phone, and tapping on the software update button to see if the download can be pulled down from the network.
