If you are in the market for a new affordable prepaid handset and are a Cricket Wireless customer (or thinking of switching), then Cricket has today confirmed that they are now stocking and selling the ZTE Grand X Max 2. This handset follows on from the likes of the ZTE Grand X Max+ which launched on Cricket last year and the ZTE Grand X3 which arrived at Cricket earlier this year. This latest Grand X member continues the tradition of looking to bring together a decent set of specs and at an affordable price.
In terms of those specs, the ZTE Grand X Max 2 is a larger handset and comes with a full 6-inch display, which makes use of a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Inside, this is a smartphone which comes packing 2GB RAM and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 Octa-core processor (clocking at 1.5 GHz). In terms of storage, the Grand X Max 2 does only come with 16GB internal storage, although it does offer the option to expand thanks to the inclusion of microSD card slot (supported up to 64GB). While on the camera side of things, the Grand X Max 2 comes loaded with a dual rear camera setup, which includes the use of a 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel camera combination. While the front-facing camera comes in the form of a 5-megapixel option. Additional features include the likes of a 3,400 mAh battery, Quick Charge 2.0 support, USB Type-C connectivity and this is a smartphone which comes running on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box.
Of course, this is designed to be an ultra affordable handset and that means while the specs are not the most impressive, the price is pretty good as the ZTE Grand X Max 2 is now available to buy through Cricket Wireless for only $199.99. Which is not a bad price at all when you consider that this is a smartphone which boasts a dual rear camera setup, USB Type-C connectivity and Android 6.0.
