BioRing Is A Wellness Tracker That Can Measure Caloric Intake

There are loads of different fitness trackers on the market and available for purchase, with no brand more popular than Fitbit and its lineup of trackers that you can wear around your wrists. For those that want something a little more discrete, options like the BioRing on Indiegogo may just be a solution. Although the BioRing is being called a wellness tracker, it certainly offers many of the same benefits you would find in other trackers, like measuring caloric burn and monitoring your sleep patterns. Unlike most however, it also boasts being able to measure your caloric intake automatically, and when paired with the caloric burn the idea is that it can give you a better overall picture of your health to help you lose weight and live healthy.

While not currently available, the BioRing already has almost half of its funding goal with a month left on the campaign. The big draw for the BioRing is its ability to measure things automatically. More than automatically measuring your caloric intake, the BioRing is also listed as being able to auto-measure your protein intake, fat intake and consumption, stress levels and water levels, and things you can find on other trackers like heart rate and steps taken, as well as activity intensity.

The big picture with BioRing is a more comprehensive overview of your sleep, stress, and nutrition so you can live a healthier lifestyle. It’s equipped with three sensors which include a Bio-Impedance sensor, optical Heart Rate sensor, and a 3-axis accelerometer, and the device charges wirelessly with the use of a microUSB compatible charging dock. It carries a small 35mAh battery but is still capable of lasting on a single charge for up to seven days, and its waterproof up to ten meters. Like other fitness trackers, BioRing will have a smartphone companion app that can be installed which feeds all of the data and information about your wellness to you, however, the ring can continue working and track your data without the connected smartphone, and it will store any collected wellness data for up to a week as long as there is a charge so you shouldn’t lose any data as long as you sync it within that time. If the BioRing is funded, estimated ship times for backers are set for November of this year, and the ring comes in Black and White.
