Each time Google updates an app there is usually at least one new change that sits alongside the bug fixes and improvements that can be found. With YouTube Gaming version 1.4.41.4, the same is true except that there is a couple of other changes to note as well. Before diving into the stuff that Google has changed with the latest update, though, it’s worth mentioning that the update for the app may not be live for some users. That doesn’t mean you won’t be able to get a hold of the most recent app version as you can grab the updated APK from the button at the bottom of the post if you don’t want to wait for it to appear in the Play Store for you.
The first new change that users may notice is that there is now an option within the app to receive alerts or notifications on upcoming events. If there is any sort of an event happening on YouTube Gaming in the near future which could likely be found in the event hub that is slated to arrive in the app soon, users will be able to set up a notification for it so they don’t forget, which will ensure they don’t miss an event that they are eager to interact with, view, or participate in.
Event notifications are all well and good, but it’s not the only new change that takes place. There is also a new easter egg to hunt down within the app, as the easter egg count has seemingly jumped from four to five, and it can be reportedly be found hidden within The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. If you’ve found past easter eggs, it shouldn’t be much trouble finding this one now that you know where to look. This version of YouTube Gaming also introduces a “not interested” option into the overflow menu for each individual video in the recommended list, which allows you to tell the app that you essentially don’t want to see those kinds of videos in the recommended list in the future. This should be a nice option for those who keep seeing particular videos pop up that they are’t going to watch. Alongside adding a few things, one thing has been removed as well, as the “Go Live” option that used to sit inside of the regular overflow menu has now been taken out. With it having its own dedicated place on the action bar, it had no need to be in a second place. Lastly, it appears that YouTube Gaming is set to receive an image cropping tool for creators in a future update to the app.
