Lenovo PHAB2 Pro Pricing & Availability

Tech World 2016 has officially started and the Tango phone, known as the PHAB2 Pro, has been announced. The PHAB2 Pro is the first consumer-facing Tango device and the very first official Tango smartphone, featuring unique technology that allows it to take advantage of augmented reality and 3D mapping. When Google and Lenovo announced back in January that they would be entering into a partnership to create this device, much of the tech imdustry would be waiting on the edge of their seats to find out when the phone would become available, and six months later after its official announcement and unveiling, Lenovo has now made pricing and availability details public.

The Lenovo PHAB2 Pro will end up releasing globally this Fall, in September, at a price of $499 USD for the pricing here in the U.S. The device will come in two colors, Champagne Gold and Gunmetal Grey, and it will be available through select Lowe’s stores nationwide, exclusively at first, but Lenovo states that it will also be available through Best Buy stores nationwide as well, albeit without mentioning a specific date or whether it would be available at the same time as it hits Lowe’s.

In addition to Lowe’s and Best Buy, both of which are likely to launch the device in September, the Lenovo PHAB2 Pro will also be available online at other select retailers before the end of the year, so if you’re the type who likes to order their smartphones online and have them shipped out, you’ll have the opportunity to do so with the PHAB2 Pro. Lenovo has not yet mentioned which online retailers would carry the phone, but it’s possible that Best Buy’s website as well as Amazon will be some of those retailers. Just as a recap, the Lenovo PHAB2 Pro comes equipped with a 6.4-inch Quad-HD display and it’s powered by a “Tango Edition” of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor that was designed specifically for this phone. It comes with a 4,050 mAh battery, a 16MP rear-facing camera and an 8MP fixed-focus camera on the front. It has a unibody design and is made from Aluminum Alloy, and out of the box it will come running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage space, expandable up to 128GB. Lenovo is also pairing this device with a nice set of JBL earphones in the box for when you want your audio and listening experiences to be a little more personal.
