Earlier this week, Samsung finally, officially took wraps off of the new Gear Fit2 and Gear IconX wearables. Both of them are geared towards fitness users and as we covered earlier in the week, the Gear Fit2 in particular is packed full of cool tech and specifications. With a large 1.5-inch curved AMOLED display, the Gear Fit2 and its dual-core CPU with 512MB of RAM is one of the more sophisticated fitness trackers out there. The Gear IconX however, are a whole different thing. Wearable earbuds that are not only truly wireless – as in there’s no tether to keep the two earbuds together – but they also manage to track your activity as well, which is pretty impressive for something that goes in your ear, of course how accurate they are will be an interesting test.
Now, Samsung is showing off what both of these two new wearable devices can do in a pair of short videos. Below is the video highlighting the more capable of the two, the Gear Fit2. As we expected from all of the leaks and rumors running up to its launch, the Gear Fit2 is designed to be used for anything and everything in terms of keeping fit. Whether or not that’s going for a run, adding up some more steps with a walk, or hopping on the bike for a fresh new route, the Gear Fit2 will track and record it, all with GPS data included.

Where the Gear IconX are concerned however, Samsung have put together a simpler video that shows off the advantages of not being tethered with a cord of any kind, including its coaching feature, which keeps you updated during a run or your configured workout. Despite being “just” wireless earbuds, the Gear IconX can also track your heart rate as well, something that serious athletes will enjoy, and while the Gear IconX might be for the more established athletes out there, being able to listen to your favorite playlist, podcast or audiobook while on the move without the weight or hassle of any wires will be a big deal to a lot of people.
