Sensoria is making quite a name for itself in the wearable industry as they constantly update their Android App and garments. Sensoria’s vision is “The Garment is the Computer,” and believe that wearable solutions can improve the users’ lives by taking information from their garments and convert it into useful data – data that can improve one’s health and help with the users’ fitness regimen.
The accompanying App for their garments is the Sensoria Fitness v2.0 App – the newest version. Created and tested by a cardiologist, this new App features an algorithm called Heart Sentinel. The App connects to the heart rate monitoring (HRM) garments and is designed to detect certain cardiac irregularities that can often precede a catastrophic event. There are many men and women riding bikes or running that are training for a long-distance marathon. They often work out in remote areas where help is not readily available should they experience a stroke or heart attack. Their new patent-pending algorithm will continuously monitor their heart and look for irregularities during the exercise. Heart Sentinel offers a real-time alert countdown to confirm if the person is still conscious and can even alert a family member via text message letting them know that the individual needs immediate help. Tracking where the person is located is possible using GPS co-ordinates.
The new App translates the information it receives from Sensoria’s new colorful line of HRM garments, and Sensoria has both sexes covered with a new medium support sports bra for women and a new short sleeved t-shirt for men. Much thought has gone into the design of the bra and shirt to prevent slipping and chafing that can occur while exercising. The garments are made with Emana yard, a new technically advanced, durable fabric that uses infrared technology to protect the wearer from the sun’s harmful UV rays. Emana is also said to improve your skin elasticity to help you combat cellulite and aid in preventing muscle fatigue. The new garments will work with Sensoria’s Bluetooth HRM module, Sensoria’s fitness App, and other popular HRM devices, such as MapMyRun, PolarBeat, Garmin Premium, etc. One of the nicest features is that the sensors are built right directly into the garment and are washable – no more separate belts to wear or snap around the user.
The new line of smart garments can be pre-ordered for an early bird price on Sensoria’s crowdfunding campaign in June. Campaign supporters may receive additional rewards depending on their contribution level. Sensoria says that research has shown that fitness buffs want the latest technology, but also want to be on the forefront of fashion. “Our garments paired with the new Sensoria Fitness app, seamlessly combine these needs and offer high-quality, comfortable heart rate monitoring available in exciting new colors and sleek styles,” said Sensoria CTO and co-founder Maurizio Macagno.
