Top 10: Android Apps For July 4th

July 4th is just around the corner and as soon as the work day is over, many people will be on their way to packing and getting ready for a three or four-day weekend in celebration of the day when the U.S. gained its independence. The holiday is sure to be jam-packed with fireworks displays, barbecues, family, friends, fun, and plenty of food and refreshments. As you prepare for your own July 4th festivities, we’ve rounded up a list of apps that can help you make the most of the national holiday. While there are many apps out there that could serve this purpose, we’ve thrown up ten that are definitely worth checking out.

Yummly

Kicking off this list is an app which is aimed at helping people put together the food they’ll be serving at whatever events they have planned, whether it’s camping or simply having a picnic in the park. While many people will simply grill up some hot dogs and burgers for an easy meal, loads of people will be looking to cook something up and Yummly can help with its collection of a ton of different recipes.

Eventbrite

If you’re not planning an event and will simply be attending something in your local area that is put on by the city or an establishment, but aren’t sure where to go or what to do, this is where Eventbrite comes in handy. It can help you easily discover all your city’s local events from concerts to conferences. Additionally, if your local area does a big fireworks display, chances are it will be listed in this app.

Spotify

Those putting on events whether in the park or at home, if you’re having people over for fun in the Summer sun you’ll likely want to have some tunes handy to keep the party upbeat. Spotify can help with a large library of music and radio stations so you can simply put on music and let the app curate the tracks, leaving you free to enjoy the company and everything else.

Snapchat

The fourth is big holiday in the U.S., and anything this big is ripe for sharing with others. Snapchat is a perfect way to spread around the fun with family and friends through photos and videos.

Lyft

If you’re heading out to an event instead of holding one at home, Lyft can help you get where you need to go. If you’re planning on having a few drinks while you celebrate, it’s an even better thing to have on hand so you can drink responsibly and have all the fun you want without worry.

Eat24

Perhaps you aren’t big on cooking and you won’t be going out to somewhere that will be serving food. You’ll still need to eat, and Eat24 is the perfect way to get food delivered to wherever you’ll be. Although the app is not supported everywhere, it supports a fairly large list of the bigger cities with plenty of restaurants that are compatible.

MLB.com

July 4th is an American holiday, and there’s few better ways to celebrate than with America’s pastime – Baseball. If you’re a huge fan of the sport, the official MLB.com app can help keep up on stats, scores, and any Baseball-related news that may come through during the day.

 Instagram

Sharing moments is one of the best things about having a smartphone, and Instagram is a great way to share all the fun moments from the upcoming holiday. Unlike Snapchat, however, moments shared to Instagram will stick around unless you decide to pull them from the app.

Google Play Music

Much like Spotify, Google Play Music will be able to provide you with a way to get some music going while you celebrate the 4th., and thanks to Google’s acquisition of Songza, there will no doubt be a specially curated set of stations with songs appropriate for the holiday front and center on the “Listen Now” page.

Uber

Rounding out this list is Uber, another app and service that can help you get around to the location you’ll be for your event. Again, this is another perfect way to stay safe while celebrating if you’re planning on having a few drinks.
