Twitter has been on a roll recently, with rolling out new features to their platform. The latest is in the form of #Stickers, that can be added to photos that you share on the social network. This is a feature that is huge over on Snapchat, so it’s no real surprise that it’s come to Twitter. It’s pretty simple. You have a slew of stickers that you can place on top of your pictures that you share in your Tweets. The feature isn’t yet available, Twitter notes that it’ll be rolling out over the next few weeks for those on iOS and Android. When it comes to Twitter’s website, you’ll be able to view and click on the stickers. But no word on actually adding them to pictures posted from their website.
With these #Stickers, you have the choice of using props, emojis and accessories which will make your photo a bit more fun. You can use these stickers to share what you are doing, or to just add some flair to your picture. Additionally, you are able to use multiple stickers on a single photo, you can resize and rotate them as well. Twitter has taken a visual spin on the hashtag this time around with stickers. So you’ll be able to search for photos with similar stickers, and your photo also becomes searchable. The way this works is that you tap on the sticker in a Tweet, and you are taken to a new timeline which will show you how people are using that sticker.
#Stickers is a feature that has become pretty popular on most social networks. Twitter is one of the last to actually add the feature. Unlike on Snapchat, these #Stickers don’t follow movement, yet. With Snapchat, you can place a sticker on an object and if it is a video, the sticker will follow that object throughout the video. Where Twitter isn’t yet adding the stickers capability to video, this isn’t a feature that is available just yet. But it likely will come in the future. If you’re using the official Twitter app for Android or iOS, you should see it soon. If you’re using a third-party app, you may not see this feature.
