Xiaomi Unveils Redmi 3X In China, The Device Costs $136

Xiaomi had introduced quite a few devices this year. This China-based company had unveiled not only a number of smartphones, but some smart gadgets as well. The Xiaomi Mi 5, Mi Max, Redmi 3, Redmi Note 3 and Redmi 3s smartphones were all introduced this year, not to mention Xiaomi also unveiled the Mi Band 2 fitness tracker, and the Mi Drone. That being said, the aforementioned Redmi 3s smartphone was introduced yesterday, and Xiaomi is now back with yet another smartphone, the Redmi 3X.

The Redmi 3X is actually quite similar to the Redmi 3s, but there are some differences. First and foremost, it is worth noting that the Redmi 3X is exclusive to China Unicom, a China-based carrier, well, at least for now. This smartphone sports a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, along with 2GGB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB of expandable storage (up to 128GB via a microSD card). The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 430 SoC 64-bit octa-core processor, along with the Adreno 505 GPU. The 13-megapixel camera can be found on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel snapper is placed on the front side of this phone. The 4,100mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it is not removable. The fingerprint scanner is also available here, and it is placed on the back of this device.

So, as you can see, unlike the Redmi 3s, this smartphone comes in 1 variant only, 3GB RAM + 32GB storage combination. The Redmi 3X is slightly heavier than the Redmi 3s, it weighs 146 grams. This smartphone is also slightly higher and wider than its sibling, it measures 139.7 x 69.7 x 8.5mm, in case you were wondering. That being said, the Redmi 3X is priced at 899 Yuan ($136), and it comes in Silver and Gold variants. The device sports 3 capacitive buttons below the display, just like the Redmi 3s, and it is made out of metal as well. All of its physical keys are placed on the right, and the SIM tray slot is available on the left side of this device, while its speaker is located in the lower portion of the phone’s back side.
