ASUS Officially Introduces The ZenPad 3S 10 Premium Tablet

The tablet market is one which has seen considerable decline over the last couple of years as a result of consumers seemingly disinterested in new tablet offerings. However, that has not stopped a number of manufacturers from still bringing new options to the market. The latest of which was officially unveiled earlier today in Taiwan by ASUS. The tablet is the ASUS ZenPad 3S 10 and this is a tablet which had been rumored and expected to be launched this month and in line with those expectations and along with the confirmation that a Snapdragon 821-powered ZenFone 3 is in the works, ASUS has now introduced their newest premium tablet option.

In terms of the specs, the ASUS ZenPad 3S 10, which makes use of the ‘Z500M’ model number, comes packing a 9.7-inch display along with a 2048 x 1536 resolution. Inside, the ASUS ZenPad 3S 10 comes loaded with 4GB RAM and is powered by a MediaTek (MT8176) hexa-core processor, with a PowerVR GX6250 powering the graphics. Cameras come in the form of an 8-megapixel rear camera which is coupled with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. While internal storage is set at 32GB as standard and there is the option to expand thanks to the inclusion of a microSD card slot (supports cards up to 128GB). Interestingly, the ZenPad 3S 10 comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor, while the additional features on offer include USB Type-C connectivity, a 5,900 mAh battery (Quick Charge 3.0 compatible) and the device comes running on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box. So in terms of general tablet specs, this is certainly a premium option.

That said, in terms of availability, ASUS has yet to confirm exact details although it is being reported that the ZenPad 3S 10 will become available in Taiwan sometime in August. The tablet will be sold as a Wi-Fi only model and the suggested price in Taiwan equates to roughly $342 USD. A price which does clearly further indicate that this is designed to be a premium tablet option. Unfortunately, for those outside of the launch market, there are no details on when, or even if, the ASUS ZenPad 3S 10 will become available elsewhere.
