We have hardly any time at all to wait for the Galaxy Note 7 to be officially unveiled during next week’s Unpacked event, but yet again it has leaked out in a slew of new photos. These new photos look suspiciously like official press renders that Samsung will be using to promote the device in less than a week’s time, but we’ll have to wait and see if that’s the case. In this latest leak, we not only get a much closer view at the Galaxy Note 7 in the Black and Blue colorways, but we also hear more about the specs under-the-hood, including some more info on the S-Pen and the device’s price, too.
As for the Galaxy Note 7 itself, this latest leak from @OnLeaks goes on to detail a device that features IP68 protection, just like the Galaxy S7 Edge, as well as a 12-megapixel camera on the back and a 5.0-megapixel camera facing the user. An octa-core CPU with a clock speed of 2.3 Ghz is listed here, which sounds like an Exynos CPU, which might not be launching in the US, with Samsung likely to choose the Snapdragon 820 once again. Only 4GB of RAM is listed here, which might be something of a disappointment to some, but given how little the OnePlus 3 apparently does with its extra 2GB of the stuff, this might not be an issue. The 3,500 mAh battery is rumored here once again, and the overall package is said to measure 153.5mm x 73.9mm x 7.9 mm and weigh 168g. All of this will apparently cost you €850, which works out at roughly $945, but this is just a straight conversion from the European price, and is likely to change.
There’s a new Gear VR pictured in the below leaks as well, which appears to be slightly different from the current model, and also available in a new color, too. A new Gear VR has been expected ever since we heard that the Galaxy Note 7 was all but confirmed to be shipping with a USB Type-C port, as the original Gear VR uses a microUSB connection. Here, we’re told that the new Gear VR will measure 207mm wide x 122mm high x 98.5mm deep, which is a little larger than the original Gear VR, which does work just fine with the Galaxy Note 5.
