Meizu MX6 Receives 3.2 Million Registrations in 24 Hours

Chinese smartphone maker Meizu is currently one of the top ten smartphone manufacturers in china. The company had started its journey with the manufacturing of MP3 players in 2003. But then moved to smartphone business as of 2008. Just like its other Chinese rivals Meizu is known for selling smartphones with top notch hardware and premium build quality at a very low price point.

Yesterday Meizu unveiled its new smartphone called Meizu MX6, which is a successor of the Meizu MX5 which was launched back in 2015. And looks like Meizu MX6 is set to break all the records, this time. As, in less than 24 hours of the official unveiling, Meizu has already received a whopping 3.2 million registrations so far. Given that smartphone will go on sale on 30th July, it may be possible for Meizu MX6 to surpass a record set by Huawei Honor 8 for receiving 5 million registrations earlier this month, before flash sales for the device begun. And with this pace, it is very likely that Meizu will break that record soon. Considering the price of the device, The Meizu MX6 packs quite a few hefty features under-the-hood. The phone has 5.5-inch Full HD display with a 1920 × 1080 resolution. The phone is powered by MediaTek MT6797 Helio X20 Deca-core CPU (Dual-core 2.3 GHz Cortex-A72 & quad-core 1.9 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53) alongside with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. The device has 4GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. In the camera department, there is a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera that uses Sony’s latest IMX386 sensor, which the company is claiming to be faster than Samsung Galaxy S7’s camera. Meizu’s MX6 comes with a 3,060 mAh non-removable battery and has a USB Type-C port. The phone will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Meizu’s own customized FlymeOS UI atop.

The price of the Meizu MX6 is set to 1,999 Yuan which is roughly converted to $300. The registrations will be open until 29th July for the Meizu MX6 and the device will go on sale via flash sale model on July 30th in china. There are currently no details on whether or not the Meizu MX6 will be made available outside of China.
