Meizu is hosting an event later this month, and the company has finally confirmed the date as well. The company has officially revealed through social media that the Meizu MX6 will launch on July 19th. The event will be held at the National Convention Centre in Beijing at 2:30PM local time, in case you were wondering. We’ve recently shared some exclusive information about the device, and the company’s CEO did say that he’s not all that impressed with the phone’s design, mainly considering it resemble the PRO 6 too much. This really doesn’t have to be a bad thing though, the PRO 6 is a well built and nice looking phone.
Anyhow, the Meizu MX6 has just surfaced on AnTuTu as well, and basically revealed its specifications. According to AnTuTu’s listing, the device will sport a fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. MediaTek’s Helio X20 64-bit deca-core processor will fuel this smartphone, along with the Mali-T880 GPU. The 12-megapixel snapper will be placed on the back of the phone, and a 5-megapixel unit will be available up front. The source also revealed that the phone will ship with the all new version of Flyme, v5.2.2.0G will ship on top of Android (probably 5.1 Lollipop, though Android 6.0 Marshmallow will roll out soon after the phone’s launch it seems). As you can see, AnTuTu did not reveal the screen size of the Meizu MX6, but we do believe that the phone will sport a 5.5-inch display, and it is even possible Meizu will opt to include an AMOLED panel here, mainly because both the PRO 5 and PRO 6 handsets shipped with such a display. In addition to all this, the 4,000mAh battery has been mentioned in rumors, and the phone’s multifunctional mBack home button will double as a fingerprint scanner as well.
Now, according to the latest info, the Meizu MX6 might be a bit more expensive than we initially thought. The phone will likely ship in two variants, one with 32GB of internal storage, and the other with 64GB of storage. The 32GB model will likely cost around $300, which means that the more expensive variant will be a bit more expensive.
