Rumor: Redmi Note 4 To Land Soon & Sport A 5.5-Inch Display

Xiaomi’s Redmi 3 and Redmi 3 Note devices are quite popular. Both of these phones were announced earlier this year, and have been selling extremely well in China. This is not all that surprising for the company’s ‘Redmi’ devices, these mid-range units always do well for Xiaomi, so no wonder that the company releases quite a few of them a year. That being said, the Redmi Note 3 was introduced back in January, and its successor, the Redmi Note 4, might follow later this year, not only are rumors suggesting that might be the case, but Xiaomi usually releases two ‘Redmi Note’ units a year, so… it makes sense.

A recent rumor said that Xiaomi intends to release two Redmi Note 4 variants later this year, and a new piece of info just surfaced. This new info was shared via the Said Yang Feng Technology Weibo (Chinese social network) page, and it says that the Redmi Note 4 will be introduced soon, and that it will sport a 5.5-inch display. This makes sense, the Redmi Note 2 was announced in August, so we do expect the Redmi Note 4 to land in either July or August. The 5.5-inch display is basically a standard for the Redmi Note series, every single one ‘Redmi Note’ devices to date sported a 5.5-inch panel, and the Redmi Note 4 will probably do the same.

Now, as far as the rest of the phone’s specs are concerned, we did see quite a bit of rumors thus far. The device is expected to ship with the Snapdragon 652 SoC, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage. Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 tech will also be included here, and a 13-megapixel camera will probably be placed on the back of this phone. There’s a good chance Xiaomi will opt to include a fingerprint scanner on the back of this phone as well, and if they intend to stay close to Redmi Note 3’s design, you can also expect this smartphone to be made out of metal, and ship with three capacitive buttons below the display.

In addition to all this info, it is also worth mentioning that the IHS Technology’s analyst, Kevin Wang, mentioned that Xiaomi intend to sell 20 million smartphones in the third quarter of this year, and the ‘Redmi Note’ line will certainly play a huge role in that equation. We’ll let you know as soon as more Redmi Note 4 info surfaces, so stay tuned.
